Understanding the "Fresh Start" Incentive

Many of you have already heard about Gold Canyon's "Fresh Start" Incentive. Here's the flier for quick reference or in case you missed the news:

I have received a few questions regarding the Fresh Start Incentive and I just wanted to clarify and emphasize a few important things for all of you about this customer-focused new incentive.

First of all, this is such an exciting campaign that Gold Canyon is sponsoring and it will result in thousands of new customers and new sales. I want to be sure that I reiterate that the Customer Fresh Start Incentive with the $10,000 sweepstakes was designed and created for new customers only! The intent of the program is to find new people who also love candles and scented products, convert them to customers and refer them to you so you can service them in the future. We do not want you to add or encourage your existing customers to enter the sweepstakes for the following reasons:
~We are looking for new customers, not the people you already know. This will help your business grow.
~If a current customer or acquaintance enters the program, they will be put into a Gold Canyon marketing plan which will send them correspondence to find a Demonstrator and purchase at Gold Canyon’s website (US: http://www.goldcanyon.com/) This could result in your current customer being referred to a different Demonstrator, which means you’ll lose that customer. This is not the intent of this campaign.
~Additionally, all sweepstakes entries must be entered by the person who owns the e-mail account.
~As Demonstrators, you have the opportunity to be rewarded with your own separate drawing.

By simply entering new customer e-mail addresses in your Essentials OnLine customer list, you will be entered into the contest, and you’ll receive five more entries if that new person makes a purchase at your personal website.

Some of you may be thinking that you don’t want your customers to miss out on the sweepstakes. Although it is thoughtful, it is not the intent of this campaign. Gold Canyon is limited in the number of new customers to whom we can offer the Fresh Start benefits. At the end of the campaign, if we feel we have not acquired new customers, we will cancel future planned marketing campaigns that have been designed to generate new referrals for our Demonstrators. Don’t forget that you already have several offers to give your existing customers, like:
~Gold Canyon’s January Last Chance Blowout Sale – 50% to 75% discounts. This is better than anything offered through Fresh Start!

New Demonstrators

Tonight I wanted to give a "shout out" to all of our new demonstrators - gals who've been selling on our team for 6 months or less. Josie McCollum (MT), Lynn Hayes (NC), Tammy Neamon (NY), Elizabeth Campbell (AZ), Lori Schilling (TX), Zoe Mitchell (AZ), Sheridan Givens (AZ), Tasha Jacquez (NM), Megan Moreno (AZ), Suzanne Mortensen (IA) and Tandy Miller (AZ).

I want to recognize two special new demonstrators, Zoe and Megan, both from AZ who joined me on our new demonstrator conference call last week. We spent the first portion of the call introducing ourselves and going over pages 10-11 of the Getting Started Guide. We shared our "30-second Commercials" - do all of you have one? Have you ever thought about your commercial? Try it!! ~ We spent the last part of the call with questions & answers, talking about the new catalogs, craft shows and more. In appreciation for taking time out of their busy schedules, I sent Zoe and Megan a free gift, the new "Love Notes" Valentine's holder. I hope you'll both find a way to use that holder to build your business - you're off to a great start!

I want to put an emphasis on sponsoring new team members! You have 10 more days to take advantage of January's sponsoring promotions. Here is the verbiage demonstrator Dani Zietlow is using to market the January Free Kit Promotion:

"Earn-Your-Kit"
Collect $350 or $700 in Gold Canyon Sales. Have a Party or do a Book Show.
I provide all the resources.
Then, when they turn in the party, they sign up and input the sales under them all with in a few hours. Sometimes GC doesn't even hit the credit card for any amount
If they do, the demo’s calls and GC releases the funds.

"REBATE"
This one has been receptive. This is where I am totally up front about the cost and charges and let them know of their initial investment. Then I let them know that based on their sales activity, $350 or $700, within 30 days, they will get the cost of the kit back on their card. That way, there are no more bounced checks, NSF fees that GC doesn't reimburse. They know what they have to buy groceries and milk for their children. Gas for their car.

"I have discontinued using the word FREE for this type of sponsoring special. I do love the variety and I know they have to change it up so for some a certain special would create a sense of urgency. Go Gold Canyon. "

Valentine's Party - Plan it now!

I had some fun ideas for a party this month! A few times a year I put on a really good party to get everybody excited again - and this is it! Won't you all do it for your customers, too? Come on! It will be so much FUN, your friends are all going to love you for this.

The theme - Valentine's, of course! It's a couples party - flier style invitations inviting everyone to come with their sweethearts. I thought of a friend of mine who's husband is in the military, so I'm going to make some kind of a note on the invitation that singles can bring a friend and make it a GNO. Invitations need to be going out soon, so set that date for yourself (and your honey!) and print something off your computer. Put on a cute graphic, use pink paper, or grab some heart stickers from the grocery store and voila! You're already putting everyone in the mood ;o)

The game - Newlywed Game!~ well sort of. There's not time to do the real thing so I'll make a modified version. Each partnership will get slips of paper containing 5 questions each must answer separately without showing their partner. After everyone is finished you read each question and go around the room letting each set of partners answer. If their answers match, they get a point. After all 5 questions have been answered the game is over and the couple with the most points wins. You might need a tie breaker. You decide the prize, some Hershey's kisses, a red rose, lip gloss, be creative!
The refreshments - Cherry Chocolate Cake - YUM! I had this yesterday and took a picture :o) It's so easy, anyone can make it. You can make it the day before, if you guys are interested I'll share my recipe [email erin(dot)didion@goldcanyon(dot)us]. Since we're inviting our guy-friends we gotta have some "man" food - so I'm making my friend Sarah's Macho Nachos, I'm happy to share that recipe if you're interested! All is quick, easy and tasty or I don't do it!


Another demonstrator shared this flier that she made up to disperse throughout the month to give all the men "subtle hints" for Valentine's gifts. I'm going to make up something similar to hand out that night. Be sure to have your party in time to receive your order before Valentine's Day.

Some other ideas for the night would be to have a few pink & red decorations around, maybe take a picture of each couple to print and deliver with their order in a thank-you note. Oh! It's going to be so much fun, I can hardly wait! If any of you are on board, share your pictures, experiences and ideas with the rest of us :o)

Inspired Spring

If you haven't already ordered your new spring catalog, the time is NOW! I already got mine and I'm so excited! I just LOVE all of the awesome new stuff and can't wait to show my customers. I've already placed a $450 order and anticipate more once I get more of these catalogs dispersed! The cover features a brand new scent in our Comforts of Home line called "Citrus Garden Herbs". It's a pretty soft yellow color and has a crisp, natural blend of rosemary, sage, lemon and thyme. The perfect fragrance for your home this new year!

Out of all the new offerings, some of my FAVORITE new releases (how can I list them, there are so many!!!) are... First, the *Eco-Shopper*. I've seen these great reusable bags at all the markets, and I have a few, but NONE are as cute as ours! This stylish lime-green color with pretty colorful flowers is too pretty and practical to get just one. I know what I'm giving all my girlfriends for their birthdays this year!

Another fave is the *Diffusers Refill*. I am so glad Gold Canyon is doing this. The diffusers are one of our more expensive products, and who would want to throw away something so beautiful when it's gone? Now you don't have to! And offering the 12 *Changing Seasons Appliques* is a cute addition to our amazing diffusers.


Along the lines of of "refills", isn't it WONDERFUL that all of our Homeology products can now be refilled with the new *Waste-less* concentrated cleaners! I love saving money and helping the environment, so these are a perfect match for me. I'm sure our customers are going to feel the same.

The final thing I LOVE about the new catalog is all of the tips and hints throughout that pertain to earth-friendliness, such as creative uses for jars & pods, and directions to clean, decorate and reuse with them. Even the catalog's paperweight has been reduced - I love that Gold Canyon is putting such an effort into "greenliness".

December Recognition

I can't believe another month and another year have gone by! Let's start out this New Year with a big pat on the back with this, our December Team Recognition...

December's top seller was Melanie Davis, Manager (AZ) with sales of $1,035.18. On her tail was her downline, Ronda Strauss, Gold Demonstrator (NY) with sales of $909.51. Holding on in third place is a fairly new demonstrator, Barb Conboy (WA) who finished the month with $843.33. Barb also ranks top in highest party for December with a party order of $517.10. Great job, ladies!

This year was Gold Canyon's "Year of Sponsoring". They held tons of great promotions to help make it easy for us to build our teams. I am so proud of all of you for your sponsoring efforts this year. Congratulations to Melanie Davis our top recruiter, who brought in 5 new team members this year. Next up is Mary Reynolds and Kathy Ashton with 2 each.
