Understanding the "Fresh Start" Incentive

Many of you have already heard about Gold Canyon's "Fresh Start" Incentive. Here's the flier for quick reference or in case you missed the news:

I have received a few questions regarding the Fresh Start Incentive and I just wanted to clarify and emphasize a few important things for all of you about this customer-focused new incentive.

First of all, this is such an exciting campaign that Gold Canyon is sponsoring and it will result in thousands of new customers and new sales. I want to be sure that I reiterate that the Customer Fresh Start Incentive with the $10,000 sweepstakes was designed and created for new customers only! The intent of the program is to find new people who also love candles and scented products, convert them to customers and refer them to you so you can service them in the future. We do not want you to add or encourage your existing customers to enter the sweepstakes for the following reasons:
~We are looking for new customers, not the people you already know. This will help your business grow.
~If a current customer or acquaintance enters the program, they will be put into a Gold Canyon marketing plan which will send them correspondence to find a Demonstrator and purchase at Gold Canyon’s website (US: http://www.goldcanyon.com/) This could result in your current customer being referred to a different Demonstrator, which means you’ll lose that customer. This is not the intent of this campaign.
~Additionally, all sweepstakes entries must be entered by the person who owns the e-mail account.
~As Demonstrators, you have the opportunity to be rewarded with your own separate drawing.

By simply entering new customer e-mail addresses in your Essentials OnLine customer list, you will be entered into the contest, and you’ll receive five more entries if that new person makes a purchase at your personal website.

Some of you may be thinking that you don’t want your customers to miss out on the sweepstakes. Although it is thoughtful, it is not the intent of this campaign. Gold Canyon is limited in the number of new customers to whom we can offer the Fresh Start benefits. At the end of the campaign, if we feel we have not acquired new customers, we will cancel future planned marketing campaigns that have been designed to generate new referrals for our Demonstrators. Don’t forget that you already have several offers to give your existing customers, like:
~Gold Canyon’s January Last Chance Blowout Sale – 50% to 75% discounts. This is better than anything offered through Fresh Start!
~Current Monthly Promotions
~Future Promotion Code E-mail Campaigns
~Living Well E-newsletter

I thought the sweepstakes was for demonstrators. The way I understood it was we received 1 entry for adding a new customer to the database and 5 entries for a new customer that placed an order. I didn't know anything about the customer being placed in the sweepstakes. How do you put the customer in, cause I was just adding their names to my customer list???

The way I understand it, Tracy, is that all of the new customers you enter during that time period will be added to the sweepstakes automatically. Gold Canyon will be tracking all the newly entered customers.
